Join our Talented Toronto Chefs for Recreational or Private Cooking Classes.

Enjoy delicious food and great conversation while learning the cooking secrets of our talented and soon-to-be famous chefs.

  • HOW LONG ARE THE CLASSES? Classes are approximately 3 hours long.
  • HOW MANY PEOPLE IN THE CLASS? The classes are up to 20 people.
  • DOES THE CLASS INCLUDE A MEAL? Classes include a minimum of 3 recipes and do constitute a complete meal.
  • ARE BEVERAGES INCLUDED? Wine and beer are available for purchase
  • ARE THESE CLASSES INTERACTIVE? Yes, our classes are interactive and "hands-on", coupled with the chef offering personal experiences and many tips and tricks throughout the evening. Up to 10 people at a time, work together as a group, with the chef instructing. We focus on knife skills, preparing ingredients for cooking, tasting/seasoning, and we strive to find every opportunity to offer you a hands-on experience at the stove and at your station, all within the spacial parameters of a single stove/family-style kitchen.

ROMANTIC SPRING IN ITALY

Dates - Wed. May 31 and Sat. June 3rd
6:30 PM

Chef Julian spent 7 years working in some of the best Italian restaurants and he has travelled extensively through Italy. He will share his secrets with you throughout the evening. The class will be preparing a very fresh insalata, classic Italian fish stew and an easy to recreate Tiramisu for dessert.

  • Simple foccacia - pizza marguerita style
  • Insalata - Bocconcini cheese with roasted eggplant, fresh cherry tomato salsa, basil and balsamic reduction
  • Cioppino - seafood stew with linguine
  • Deconstructed Tiramisu

COOKING ON THE GRILL - MIXED GRILL CLASS

Dates - Wed. June 7 and Sat. June 10

Celebrate the first long-weekend of the summer with this fabulous grill class

  • Grilled Asparagus & Portobello Mushroom Salad
  • Grilled sausages, shrimp and chicken with grilled veg
  • Grilled fruits with a fresh berry coulis

MEXICAN DELIGHTS

Dates - Wed. June 14 and Sat. June 17

In this class you will learn how to create these classic Mexican dishes at home.

  • Mexican chopped Salad with Lime Juice Dressing
  • Caramelized onions and beef/chicken Quesadillas
  • Grilled fish tacos with avocado and citrus mango salsa
  • Non-Fried ice cream with whipped cream, honey and cinnamon

COOKING ON THE GRILL - Argentine Style

Cook like a Gaucho with these Argentine Grilling tips and recipes.

Payment and cancellation policy:

All students must recognize the Payment and Cancellation Policy prior to registering for any Cooking Class.

All cooking classes are non-refundable and must be paid for when booked.

HST will be applied to all cooking classes.

More than 7 days’ notice to The Chef Upstairs by email or phone: No refunds. Students will be eligible to reschedule to future class.

Less than 7 days’ notice to The Chef Upstairs: No refunds or rescheduling will be allowed.

No Notice : Where a student fails to inform The Chef Upstairs or fails to attend registered class – NO Rescheduled Class will be issued.

Gift Certificate Use: Where a student intends to use a gift certificate and is unable to attend a class, the above Cancellation policy is in effect. All Gift certificates will be debited or voided as applicable.
