Plaka is a trendy district in the heart of Athens. The Greek people show filotimo (loving welcome), and kefi (passion), for their culture, and especially their food and drink. In this menu, I have built an experience around a traditional Athenian taverna, both with trendy and traditional mezze style foods.  As my mother used to say, “Come in come in, what would you like to eat?” 


Upon Arrival: Platter of Chef Selected Cheeses, House-Made Marinated Feta and Citrus Marinated Olives

Horiatiki Salad (Green peppers, Cucumbers, Spanish onion, Tomato, Olives and Feta) served with Three Homemade Dips (Tirokafteri, Taramosalta and Melaznosalta) with Dolmathankia (Stuffed vine Leaves) and Pita

Marinated and Grilled Octopus and Loukaniko (Traditional Greek Sausage

Bakalau with Skorthalia (Salt Cod, Breaded and Pan-Fried with Garlic Dip) 

Lemon-Roasted Potatoes, Rice Pilaf and Steamed Dandelion

Loukomathes (Greek donuts drenched in cinnamon and Greek honey)

The Evening’s Specialty Drinks: Greek Coffee and Greek Mountain Tea or Mama’s Night Cap; A shot of Tsipouro
